The Key of Cartridge Filtration

Filter Materials in Cartridge Filters

Activated Carbon

An activated carbon filter cartridge is a kind of filter cartridge specially used for gas adsorption and treatment of organic waste gas. Commonly used activated carbon materials include charcoal, algae charcoal, and activated carbon. The activated carbon filter cartridge has good adsorption performance, high filtration accuracy, and high treatment efficiency. It is widely used in chemical, electronic, petroleum, and other industries.

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene)

The surface of non-woven filter media is treated with PTFE coating, which has a certain rigidity. The surface of the filter media is smooth and hydrophobic. The filter cartridge has good waterproof, wear resistance, acid and alkali resistance, and temperature resistance, making the filter cartridge easy to clean, with low operating resistance and long service life.

Nano Materials

Nano-film coating is a new type of filter material. Its working principle is to use nanotechnology to coat a layer of special material with a thickness of about several microns on the surface of the filter cartridge to form a nano-coating. This nano-coating can selectively separate tiny particles, macromolecules, and organic substances in the liquid. Nano-film filter cartridges are mainly used in industrial fields where high-efficiency filtration is required. It can effectively remove some tiny particles and bacteria that are difficult to separate and improve product quality and safety.

Cellulose

This kind of filter material has high precision, large dust-holding capacity, and is relatively affordable. Usually, they can only be used in environments below 100 degrees Celsius and need to be kept dry.

PE

Polyester filter cartridges are made of polyester non-woven bonded filter material, which has been treated with hot roller calendering, heat setting, waterproof and oil-proof saturation. It has a compact microporous structure and can filter 99.99% of 1-micron dust. After being made into filter cartridges, they have a variety of external dimensions. This kind of filter cartridge can be washed with water, and the maximum working temperature is 135℃.

Glass Fiber

The glass fiber material is often used in high-efficiency filtration applications because of its large dust-holding capacity, low resistance, and high-temperature resistance. It is one of the main materials for producing cylindrical HEPA filters.

The Cartridge Filter Manufacturing Process

Materials Preparing

Gather up all the things you need—filter paper, caps, rubber gaskets, sealants, and grids—so you can make the production fast and easier.

Pleating

Using special machines to pleat the filter paper, to make them have more area and work better.

Assembly

Putting the pleated paper, caps, caps, and screens together so everything fits in the filter and works just right.

Gluing

Put glue on your assembled parts to hold everything together, and let it dry so it stays together over time.

Testing

Doing tests to make sure your filter doesn’t leak and that it works like it’s supposed to work.

Packing

Putting your finished filters in bags, then write on the bags like batch numbers and quantity so you know what’s inside.

Various caps for your specific needs

We know filters aren’t all the same. The cap you put on the top is different depending on what you’re doing and what you need. That’s why we have a lot of different caps that go on top, so you can have whatever you need. Maybe you need the stainless-steel one, or maybe you need the one that’s OK when it gets really hot; we’ve got what you need.

Our cap you can put on top comes in a lot of different materials. We have polypropylene for chemicals, stainless-steel if you need it to be really hard, and we have some other special ones if you have really custom stuff you need. In addition, we offer a variety of cap shapes – twist lock, three/four lug, threaded, may cap, and custom designs – to suit your different interface settings.

We test these caps so they work like they’re supposed to work and do what you want.

Tips for daily cartridge filter maintenance

  • The cartridge dust collector needs to be cleaned and maintained regularly. When the end pressure difference is twice the initial pressure difference, it is recommended to replace the filter cartridge.
  • The pulse backflush pressure should be set reasonably as required, and the pulse time and cycle should be designed reasonably to avoid “over-cleaning” and shorten the service life of the filter cartridge.
  • Using compressed air to clean the filter cartridge after disassembling it is not recommended. The dust holding capacity of the cleaned filter cartridge will be reduced by 20-40%, and the cleaning process will also cause secondary pollution to the surrounding environment.
  • When the air inlet volume is significantly reduced, the filter cartridge should be replaced in time to avoid losses caused by long-term use.

Q&As

To test your filters, we check three things. First, we see how small of particles the filter can get rid of. Second, we check how fast air can go through the filter. Finally, we see how fast the filter gets dirty when dust goes through it. Sometimes, we might have to check on the fourth thing, which is the size of a special kind of pollutant that the filter can remove.

There are a bunch of different materials we make filters out of. We make them out of polypropylene, or we make them out of cellulose, PTFE, or activated carbon. Each one of those things is different, and it’s good for different reasons.
